IdeaGap

The gaps we're closing.

DuleKo is built from lived experience on Nepal's highways. These are the friction points we're engineering away — drawn straight from passengers, crews, owners and officials.

The 45% discount nobody can claim

Despite the government's policy of eligibles getting a 45% discount on their travel ticket cost, most students, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens struggle to claim it.

Private bus crews often refuse to validate ID cards and force everyone to pay the full normal fare. And if a traveller forgets to carry their ID, the discount is gone. This has been a great challenge of all time — making it impossible to travel freely within the country. Every time a typical Nepali thinks of travelling, the most distressful things are ticketing, timing, and food.

Hidden meal stops, surprise prices

Bus owners don't disclose the details of the food stop or its timing. Crews sometimes stop at 9 PM for dinner, sometimes at 4 AM, and sometimes never at all.

Most of the time, the cost of food at these stops exceeds the traveller's expected budget — leaving people to travel for days without eating anything.

Our idea

As long as the IDs of eligible people are verified by the government, the discount applies automatically to any travel ticket they buy through the platform — no arguing, no missed ID, no lost benefit.

Once bus owners can track their live location, they can disclose the location and time of the food break right on the schedule. Families see the bus in real time in case of accidents, breakdowns or traffic, and passengers decide whether to carry food from home or buy at the stop — and when to eat.
